Lots of great options for local produce, bakery items, etc. Also great to drop off our weekly compost. Only complaint is that it closes at 12pm. We like to catch up on sleep on the weekends. Other farmers markets in the DC area are open till 1 or 2 pm.

No public restrooms, went into a municipal building to use the available bathroom, was told very forcefully by a local city employee dudley-do-right that the building was only available for vendors (while I was in the bathroom). Being from out of town, how would a visitor know that? The building had no markings to notify anyone that such a policy was in place! It was unlocked! Was told to go to the Taco Bell, where they refused to let me in the restroom. Seems like a nice city, but it definitely has some quirks and a lack of common sense at city hall. Without visitors and patrons to the farmer’s market there would be no need to have a farmer’s market. Do better.

The Old Town Farmers Market is an absolute non-to-be-missed part of our rare visits to Washington DC. Unlike so many farmers markets they have multiple amazingly fresh baked bakeries that make it amazing. Other highlights are their chocolate milk from an amish farm. The actual location of the farmer's market is closed right now so the booths are in the surrounding streets but the vendors are the same.

Large farmers market in the heart of old town Alexandria on Saturday mornings. Gorgeous fall day with an amazing array of apples, flowers, cheese, bread, pastries,veggies and more. Worth the visit for sure.
